Inspiration for Your Outdoor Space
I bought a brand new house in Dickson, TN about 3 years ago in a new subdivision. Which means, I started out with no grass, trees, or flowers, just a few contractor shrubs that died about 6 months after we moved in. Since I love flower gardening, I have been actively landscaping my yard ever since. It is just now starting to get a little curb appeal. One special tip from me, Make sure you read the part on the instructions about spacing. I spent the last few days digging up and replanting shrubs that I planted 2 years ago because I thought they were so small and looked silly that far away. Now they are growing into each other and I had to redo the planting. I could have saved myself a lot of extra hard work. If you also are trying to figure out how do I have nice flower gardens in my plain new lot or even if you just have an older home that has not had much landscaping love, then I have some inspiration for you.![]()

If you are looking for a local place to go for some first hand inspiration, I recommend Cheekwood Botanical Gardens. My husband Aaron and I went in August and our planning to go again now that it is spring. It is just a short drive from Dickson to Nashville.
