Common Sense Tips on Real Estate Contracts
- Read it over 3 times before submitting it to the co-operating agent.
- If there is anything not specific that you think is understood, change it to a detailed description to insure that everything is completely understood.
- Read the fine print.
- If your agent is not the principal broker, ask them to have their principle broker check it over to make sure they didn’t miss anything.
- When you are presented with an offer or counter offer, you can always counter to change something.
- Always tie up any loose ends BEFORE going to the closing table. Once monies are exchanged there is no going back.
- Don’t be afraid to ask questions along the way. That’s why you have the agent.
- If you say you will do something or won’t do something stick to your word.
- Be considerate of others.
- Always do the right thing.
