Dickson, TN

Dickson, Tn is a great place to call home or just to vacation in. A new leading trend is to find a small town to buy a vacation home in. There are beautiful sights to see here from Montgomery Bell State park to historic Cumberland Furnace. There is a state of the art education and entertainment center, The Renaissance Center. We have one of the top school systems where you can still find hometown teachers who love and care about your children. We also have an affordable real estate market with small country homes to new subdivisions to old mansions. Dickson, TN is only a short drive to music city Nashville, TN. Its still in the country yet close to everything one could need.

Here are some quotes from friends of mine that grew up in Dickson County.

“Its a nice place to live, still scenary in some areas (charlotte, vanleer areas) Its a small “franklin” is what i refer to it as b/c its growing not such a small town anymore. We have 2 restaurants that are great places to eat at….so we dont have to drive to Bellevue or Nashville- O charleys and Apple Bees. We have our own movie theater. Bowling alley, skating rink, nice parks, and most of all the crime rate is not high like in other areas…not to say we dont have it, but its not a high rated area of crime like metro areas.
cant honestly say that our taxes and vehicle tag fee are good but We still like where we live. hope this helps some :)”

“Dickson is great because it’s an ever-growing community with plenty to offer in the way of convenience (all it lacks are Target and Starbucks!), but it still has that small-town feel. It’s close enough to Nashville to enjoy the perks of the city from time to time (including the major hospitals), yet it’s FULL of country life and truly country people. It has a pretty even demographic, and I’d consider it a safe place to live. I can’t think of any neighborhoods I’d tell people to avoid for safety reasons… The schools are great, too (especially compared to some I’ve experienced in Nashville), but I have no idea how they rank on scores and such. Maybe they’re better just because of the people who staff them… And who could forget Old Timer’s Day? That is definitely part of what makes Dickson a fantastic place to live. Community.”

i liked growing up in dickson because it can be rural and was at my home, but it’s not such a rural city that your career options are limited to being a farmer.”
